Indian Trailblazer Aishwarya Pissay Eyes 2027 Dakar Rally

Aishwarya Pissay, a pioneering Indian rider, has set her sights on the prestigious Dakar Rally in 2027. She aims to become the first woman from India and Asia to conquer the iconic rally on two wheels. Her recent victory at the Rally-Raid Portugal has bolstered her confidence and experience for this ambitious goal.

The Rally-Raid Portugal, held over six days and covering 2,000 kilometres, was a significant stepping stone for Aishwarya. She navigated 1,225 kilometres of competitive stages on challenging gravel terrain to finish an impressive 27th overall. Notably, she was the first woman from India and Asia to win her category at this international event.

Competing as a privateer in the FIM World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), Aishwarya's victory is a landmark achievement for Indian riders, particularly women entering global motorsport. Backed by TVS Racing and its partners, she has proven that she can hold her own against the best in the world. The rally, organised jointly by FIM and FIA, brought together top international names, further highlighting Aishwarya's accomplishment.

Aishwarya Pissay's victory at the Rally-Raid Portugal has not only given her valuable experience for her future Dakar Rally attempt but also inspired Indian women to pursue careers in global motorsport. With her sights set on 2027, she continues to make history one ride at a time.
