Yo, check this out! India's experienced drag-flicker Araijeet Singh Hundal will guide a talented 24-member junior men's hockey squad in the 4-Nation Tournament taking place in Berlin from June 21 to 25, 2025. This tournament marks a significant step in the team's preparations for the FIH Junior Men's Hockey World Cup, scheduled to take place in Chennai and Madurai later this year. 👊

Joining Hundal will be Spain, Australia, and Germany, each bringing their A-game to the competitive stage! 🛡️

Our dude PR Sreejesh, the former India goalkeeper and current junior men's coach, stated, "This tournament is a key part of our strategy for the upcoming Junior World Cup. It offers a fantastic chance for our young guns to compete against international powerhouses and test their skills in a competitive setting." 🤝

Sreejesh also emphasized that the team's focus would primarily be providing the young gang with international experience, rather than targeting specific results. "This tour is not about trophies; it's about equipping these young athletes to excel in higher-pressure situations. Each match against quality opponents, like Germany, Australia, and Spain, will challenge the players' physical and mental fortitude, fostering the making of world-class players," he added. 💪

Hundal will be supported by Amir Ali as his deputy, with the lineup featuring key players from the victorious 2023 Junior Asia Cup and the 2023-24 Pro League squad. 🏆

In the round-robin stage, each team will meet once, and the top two will face off in the grand finale. The third and fourth-placed squads will engage in a classification match. 🥅

Sreejesh shared his excitement about experimenting with various team compositions and providing opportunities for players to showcase their leadership skills in crunch moments. "We've assembled a squad with a pleasing blend of energy and potential that will enable us to polish our game strategies, experiment with different combinations, and empower players to take charge in critical situations. The lessons we learn here will prove invaluable when we gear up for the home World Cup," he said. 🤯

The goalkeeping position will be manned by Bikramjit Singh and Vivek Lakra, both displaying sharp reflexes during training sessions. The defensive lineup consists of Amir Ali, Talem Priyobarta, Shardanand Tiwari, Sunil PB, Anmol Ekka, Rohit, Ravneet Singh, and Sukhvinder. Adarsh G, Prasant Barla, Chandan Yadav, and Mohammed Konain Dad have been included as standby players for the tour.

Impressive stuff, right? Stay tuned for more updates as the team ups the ante in their quest to bring World Cup glory back to India! 🏆🇮🇳
