Side by side with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, NSA Ajit Doval, CDS General Anil Chauhan, and the trio of service chiefs, PM Narendra Modi sealed a crucial meeting - all this going down in the heat of 'Operation Sindoor'.
In the backdrop of heated clashes, the summit aimed to strategize the operation's trajectory forward, while talks also covered persistent ceasefire violations by Pakistan on the Line of Control (LoC) and border.
About twenty old war horses, including ex-Air Force, Army, and Navy Chiefs, were also summoned to share their two cents in the discussions, a source close to the matter revealed.
Yesterday's Showdown
Earlier in the week, media personnel were briefed on Pakistan's audacious violation of Indian airspace and the speedy response from our forces. Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, one of a few female officers in the Indian Armed Forces, explained that around 300-400 drones - reportedly made in Turkey - were used for invasive intelligence gathering and infiltration attempts during the night of May 8 and 9, taking aim at about 36 locations along the Western border. While the wreckages are being analyzed for solid evidence, it's thought the objective was to probe India's defenses and gather intel.
Tale of the Tape
On Thursday night, Pakistan went on a rampage, launching drones, missiles, and even targeting key cities and military installations. But our robust air defense left the Pakistani side flustered and in a pickle.
Colonel Sofiya Qureshi also revealed that the Pakistani forces had been continuously attempting to breach the LoC with heavy artillery fire, but all attempts were foiled via military and non-military means.
Operation Sindoor's Origins
Launched as a retaliatory measure following the deadly April 22 Pahalgam attack in Kashmir - where 26 innocents perished - 'Operation Sindoor' zoomed in on terrorist base camps across the LoC and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
