India-Japan Ministers Inspect Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Progress
Ministers from India and Japan inspected the Surat stretch of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) bullet train project, highlighting the strong collaboration between the two nations in implementing India's first High-Speed Rail corridor. The visit comes as the project progresses swiftly, with high-quality construction and a focus on passenger comfort.
The Ministers, Ashwini Vaishnaw and Hiromasa Nakano, reviewed key components of the project, including the advanced track slab laying car and the track slab adjustment facility. They commended the quality standards and rapid pace of construction, with 323 km of viaduct and 399 km of pier work completed, including 17 River bridges, five PSC bridges, and nine Steel bridges. The upcoming Bullet Train station in Surat is designed with a focus on passenger comfort and convenience, featuring soothing interiors, natural lighting, and well-ventilated platforms. A Multi-Modal Integration plan has been prepared to facilitate easy switching between metro trains, buses, taxis, autos, and other local transport.
The Japanese Minister was welcomed with a traditional Garba dance at Surat airport, reflecting the warm ties between the two countries. The 508 km long Bullet Train corridor, once completed, will significantly reduce travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
The Ministers' visit underscores the progress and importance of the MAHSR project. With its focus on quality, comfort, and integration, the Bullet Train promises to revolutionize travel between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The project's successful completion will not only benefit passengers but also strengthen the bond between India and Japan.
