Fanatics Casino Starts Online Roll With a Bang! The iGaming application is now live in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West VirginiaA web version is coming next week

Ready for some casino action? Fanatics Betting and Gaming, led by billionaire Michael Rubin, has launched its standalone online casino app—Fanatics Casino—in four inaugural markets: Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. These are all states that have regulated iGaming (interactive gambling) featuring online slots and interactive table games. Fanatics Casino is an expansion of their existing online sportsbook in these jurisdictions.

To celebrate their casino debut, Fanatics Casino players can participate in a sweepstakes with a potential $2 million grand prize—yes, you read that right! Stakes for this sweepstakes are as low as $10, and winners will be chosen each week up until June. The winner of the weekly sweepstakes receives an impressive $25K in FanCash, which can be utilized for bonus bets and retail purchases.

Don’t have the app? No worries! A web version of Fanatics Casino will be available next week, with New Jersey leading the way on May 5. Fanatics Casino will no doubt be heavily promoted during Fanatics Fest scheduled in New York City's Javits Center next month.

From Customers to Gamblers

Since acquiring PointsBet US in 2023, Fanatics has invested a massive sum into their gaming ventures. This acquisition kick-started Fanatics Sportsbook, which quickly gained market share in numerous online sports betting markets. Fanatics has managed to convert numerous merchandise and collectibles customers into sports bettors, and now they’re aiming to do the same for iGaming, not an easy feat with the likes of DraftKings and FanDuel dominating the iGaming sector.

Not only has Fanatics teamed up with top iGaming developers like Light & Wonder, IGT PlayDigital, Evolution, and White Hat Studios, but they will also feature live dealers for table games on the app and desktop, provided by Evolution. Live dealers are available for blackjack, roulette, and baccarat.

iGaming: The Profitable Sector

In contrast to sports betting, iGaming offers far more robust and reliable income for operators. While sports betting revenue can fluctuate greatly based on the outcomes of events and games, online casino operators tend to have more predictable revenue due to the game’s inherent odds being in their favor.

Last year, licensed iGaming operators in the seven regulated states (the other four being Connecticut, Delaware, and Rhode Island) generated gross gaming revenue (GGR) of $8.41 billion. Compared to that, sports betting (legal in 39 states and Washington, D.C.) yielded a GGR of $13.71 billion.

Despite operating in only four of the least-populated states, iGaming still managed to surpass half of what sports gambling generated, proving its significant potential and thus, Fanatics’ investment in this sector.

It's worth noting that iGaming experienced a 29% year-over-year increase in 2024, while sports gambling revenue grew by 24%.
