Independent film studio NoBudge prepares for its second feature film release, titled "Pomp & Circumstance," featuring Adrian Anderson and Patrick Gray in a comedic role.
In the world of independent film, a new gem is set to shine as Adrian Anderson and Patrick Gray's directorial debut, "Pomp & Circumstance", makes its way onto the Brooklyn-based streaming platform, NoBudge.
This unique production, a blend of French New Wave and Mumblecore, has already made waves in the festival circuit, winning the Audience Choice Award at the Tallahassee Film Festival and Best Feature Film at Subculture Film Festival.
The film follows the lives of three soon-to-be college graduates who become embroiled in their professor's farcical mayoral campaign. Ben Loftus, Noah Brockman, Isabel Zaia, and Patrick J. Malone make their acting debuts in the lead roles, with Tucker Bennett, Nora Austin Murphy, and Alex Walton joining them in the supporting cast.
The directors of "Pomp & Circumstance" draw inspiration from early Brian De Palma and Hal Hartley, reflecting in the film's idiosyncratic enthusiasm and its loving but sarcastic homage to '60s-era underground cinema and '90s independent features.
NoBudge is thrilled to take another step into the wider film distribution landscape with "Pomp & Circumstance". As a platform dedicated to showcasing low-budget independent films across narrative, documentary, and experimental formats, this film fits perfectly with their mission and ethos.
The film was shot on a budget of $15,000 in Vermont and Massachusetts. On September 18, audiences can stream "Pomp & Circumstance" on NoBudge, with other VOD platforms like Amazon Prime and Apple TV releasing it on October 18.
Interestingly, "Pomp & Circumstance" is the second feature released by NoBudge, following Tynan DeLong's "Dad & Step-Dad" last year. The Blu-Ray release for "Pomp & Circumstance" will be handled by OCN Distribution next year.
NoBudge launched its subscription service as a streamer in 2021, providing an avenue for independent films to reach a wider audience. With "Pomp & Circumstance", they continue to champion the underdogs of cinema, offering a fresh and exciting addition to their catalogue.
