Incredibly Desirable Doom Vinyl Record Could Cost Me My Soul to Acquire
Going Gaga Over Doom: The Dark Ages Vinyl
Sometimes, there are things in life that spark an overwhelming desire, even when they're entirely unnecessary. Such is the case with the upcoming Doom: The Dark Ages vinyl collection. And guess what? It's up for pre-order right now, before its official release in October 2025.
I'll be honest – I'm not a hardcore Doom fan. But I'm a self-confessed vinyl aficionado, and a sucker for a stunning marbled splatter finish.
Speaking of which, given that this is a Doom record, the blood red marbled finish feels perfectly fitting. It'll undergo a crushing 150-tonne press and even have its edges sliced off before being shipped out. Quite the ordeal, huh? But hey, that's the Doom life for you.
How Many Vinyl Are in the Doom Soundtrack Box Set?
The publishers, Bethesda, are joining forces with Laced Records to bring you the Finishing Move original soundtrack for Doom: The Dark Ages. There are two versions available – a four LP box set, and a double LP version.
How Much Does the Doom Soundtrack Cost?
The four-LP box set includes 35 tracks, while the double LP version features 17 tracks. The former comes with a hefty price tag of £85/$110, while the latter is more wallet-friendly at £36/$42. International shipping is available, although be prepared for potential Super Shotgun threats in the form of import taxes and shipping costs.
On a side note, there's a triple-gatefold double CD package, but in my humble opinion, it's all about the vinyl.
According to the press release, this production boasts an impressive level of detail: "The 4LP box set is housed in a sturdy dual rigid board outer slipcase, with the iconic Slayer symbol debossed onto its inner slipcase. All vinyl packaging has been designed by id Software."

Now, if you ask me, someone should give Alex Terrible a call to create a fully vocalized Doom soundtrack. It's a dream come true, yet a nightmare too. But I'd be all for it.
