Increased grain export volumes via Kuban seaports by twofold reported recently.

Brace yourselves, folks! The grinding mills of Kuban's sea ports have ground to a halt, as grain exports have dropped a whopping 50% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year! The "Interfax" agency broke the shocking news, citing data from the Federal Center for the Assessment of the Safety and Quality of Agricultural Products.

In 2025, only 6 million tons of grain were shipped, while a staggering 13 million tons were sent in the same quarter of 2024. The figures for 2025 dropped a massive 2.2 times!

Wheat was the main export, making up over 4.9 million tons of the shipment. The ports of Kuban sent wheat of all classes to various countries across the globe. This year, the number of shipments for wheat of the 3rd and 4th classes reached 234.9 thousand tons and an overwhelming 4.5 million tons, respectively. Countries like Yemen, Egypt, Burundi, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Tunisia, and Turkey were among the leading recipients.

Barley exports totaled 343 thousand tons, with Libya, Saudi Arabia, and UAE being the primary buyers. In total, grain from Kuban ports reached Russia from a staggering 60 countries worldwide. Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Libya, and nations from Europe, North America, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Far East were among the most active participants.

It seems African countries have developed an appetite for Russian grain! Last year, they received an impressive 26 million tons of products and grain through Kuban, with goods delivered to 30 countries. This figure is a staggering 36% higher than in 2023!

Curiously, the export of sugar from the Krasnodar Territory saw a 50% decrease in 2024. But, it seems that 2025 is looking a bit sweeter! 🍯
