Increased Anxiety Surfaces Among Residents During Green List's Stop in Brötzingen

In a recent district inspection, CDU municipal councilor Jörg Augenstein joined the Green List faction as they examined the Brotzinger Market last Friday. The inspection, a regular event for the faction, aims to identify and address local issues and concerns.

One of the main concerns raised during the inspection was the dark pedestrian underpass from Habermehlstraße to Wildbader Straße. The faction suggested improving lighting in the underpass during the day to enhance citizen security. Councilor Emre Nazli has promised to contact the responsible operator regarding this concern.

The city museum was another topic of discussion during the inspections. Questions about the museum's operations and potential improvements were raised and will be addressed by the faction.

The historical leader of the cultural office, Monika Schmon, who held the position of cultural director in the city of Baden, was present to answer questions from citizens about her area, including the recently restored historical tramcars and the city museum.

The Bürgerverein Weststadt 1906 e.V., which has been representing the concerns of Brotzinger citizens for over 100 years, was also present during the preparation for the inspection.

The faction conducts regular inspections in local and urban districts, as well as at associations and in companies, at least once a month for years. Recording citizen concerns directly on site is seen as an important part of the municipal council's work by faction speaker Axel Baumbusch.

Future traffic was another point of interest during the inspection. The faction believes that motorized individual traffic will no longer be the norm, and they are advocating for more S-Bahn stops in the city.

The faction also raised questions about the future of Carl-Hölzle-Straße, as a 12-story high-rise is planned to be built on the street, resulting in the loss of the Park&Ride parking lot. The faction is concerned about whether Carl-Hölzle-Straße will remain a thoroughfare or be closed in the future.

Another important point that the faction will ask the administration for is a register with a responsible contact person for the commercial vacancy rate. This register will help the faction address the issue and find solutions for vacant commercial properties.

In a bid to alleviate the financial burden on the Bürgerverein, the faction has promised to submit a cross-faction proposal for the city to bear the costs for Christmas lighting in all districts.

The inspections create a prerequisite for recognizing and solving problems early on, according to faction speaker Axel Baumbusch. The Green List has been advocating for more S-Bahn stops for a long time, and these inspections are a crucial step in achieving their goals.
