The Shift in Employee Commitment: More Strictly Adhering to Work in Germany Than Ever
A Survey Indicates an Increase in Adherence to Professional Standards among German Workers - Increase in Service Sector Employment: Germany Sees Record Number of Workers in This Area
Here's a lowdown on a recent study that sheds light on the work landscape in Germany.
While an increased number of employees are abiding by the rules set by their employers, they're less likely to feel mentally checked out compared to the previous year. It's a 6-percentage point drop, bringing the percentage of those who feel like they've already bid adieu in spirit to 13 percent.
"Companies have managed to curb inner resignation with strategic measures, but they've failed to ignite motivation," states Marco Nink, the head honcho at Gallup.
The loyalty of employees took a hit as per last year's survey. Only half of the workers (50 percent) now seem determined to stick with their current employer next year, a shrinkage from 78 percent in 2018. On the flip side, 34 percent of the respondents hope to stay on board for three years.
Germany's economic climate casts doubts among employees about their employers' financial stability. A mere 34 percent still stand by their employers, the lowest trust level since the 2008 banking and financial crisis. This appraisal mirrors the country's economic sentiment, as employees gauge whether their company is securing contracts, investing, or recruiting new talents, as elucidated by Gallup.
For this research, which has been ongoing since 2001, around 1,700 employees were surveyed over the phone in November and December. The findings are said to be representative, as per the company.
