Stay tuned for an action-packed weekend, folks! On the 15th at 1 PM sharp, right at the bird perch on Hogefeldsweg, the Shooting Society Dämmerwald will crown its new Shooting King. And let's not forget about the adorable Kids' Shooting event happening on the same day!
Remember the thrilling King's Shooting of 2024?
The grand King's Shot is set to start at 5 PM, says Jan Holloh, the Shooting Society's official spokesperson. Last year, things got a bit tense when the bird remained on the perch due to a lack of candidates. But don't worry, the decisive moment didn't keep us waiting for too long.
After some rousing speeches, three courageous contenders, including the reigning King Andreas Ostermann, took their positions. The carpenter truly managed to show off his marksmanship, knocking the bird from its perch just before six. He then chose molecular biologist Pia Suckrau as his queen. This year, it's a new face who'll be chosen as the King!
Save the Date for the Coronation Ball and More!
Fast forward to June 25, and you'll see the newly crowned King and his Queen, all dressed up and ready to dance at the Shooting Ball, starting at 7:30 PM. The grand Coronation Ball for the new royal couple will follow the next day (June 26, 7:30 PM) in the festival barn on the Mümken farm (Am Breiten Winkel). The musical entertainment will be provided by the popular band "Nachtschicht". Food and drinks will be handled by festival caterer Wenzel Schwering and "Büffel's by Janke & Wolff".
Before the Coronation Ball, there's a special Senior Coffee exclusively for the Dämmerwald seniors on that Saturday from 3 PM. The last event in June will be the Runkel King's Shooting, happening on Monday, June 30, at 7 PM on Hogefeldsweg.
