Breaking News: Governors Inaugurated and New Appointments Made Across Russia
In a series of events this week, several governors were inaugurated and new appointments were made across various regions in Russia.
Yuri Slyusar, the new governor of the Rostov region, began his term on Friday. Slyusar emphasized ensuring the safety of citizens and protecting vital facilities as his top priority. The corresponding senator from the region was replaced to accommodate the change.
Meanwhile, in the Perm Krai, Mikhail Belousov replaced Maxim Reshetnikov as Governor, while Yevgeny Kuyvashev was reappointed as Governor of Sverdlovsk Oblast with an extended term. Denis Pasler was appointed Governor of Orenburg Oblast, replacing Yury Berg. The corresponding senators from these regions also had their terms adjusted accordingly.
In the Kaluga region, Vladimir Shapsha began his second term. Shapsha's second term plans are yet to be decided regarding his representatives in the upper house. Igor Shegolev, the President's Plenipotentiary Representative in the Central Federal District, congratulated Shapsha on the region's achievements in restarting automobile manufacturing enterprises and improving agricultural indicators.
Alexander Bogomaz, governor of the Bryansk region, began his third term on Friday. Bogomaz was congratulated by Nikolai Valuyev, a State Duma deputy, Vadim Deneugin, a current senator, and Igor Shegolev.
Rustam Minnikhanov, the head of Tatarstan, started his fourth consecutive gubernatorial term. Timur Nagumanov, Minnikhanov's assistant and former Almetyevsk mayor, was appointed as Tatarstan's representative in the Federation Council. Alexander Terentyev, the former representative of Tatarstan in the Federation Council, was appointed as Minnikhanov's assistant.
Vladimir Solodov, the governor of Kamchatka, was inaugurated on Friday. Solodov outlined five principles for his second term: improving the quality of life, creating a stable economy, developing infrastructure, preserving nature, and expanding government transparency. Solodov also disbanded the cabinet and announced plans to form a new government within a month.
Igor Kobshev, the head of the Irkutsk region, took his second gubernatorial oath. However, the inauguration was postponed due to weather conditions and the inability of the presidential plenipotentiary to attend.
Notably, three earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 4.2 to 5.3 occurred during Solodov's inauguration ceremony. In a separate event, the chairman of the regional public chamber of Irkutsk commissioned a painting inspired by Vladimir Serov's famous work, titled "Public Figures with Kobshev."
Reports from "Kommersant" suggest that both governors, Anatoly Artamonov and Andrei Yatskin, plan to retain their positions as the previous senators. Boris Nevzorov will also retain his post in the new government of Kamchatka.
Andrey Prakh, correspondent of "Kommersant", reported on the inaugurations of governors in the Bryansk, Kaluga, and Rostov regions. Irina Yarygina, a Vice-Speaker of the State Duma, and senators Boris Nevzorov and Valery Ponomarev attended Solodov's inauguration.
These changes and appointments mark a significant shift in the political landscape of these regions, as they embark on new terms and initiatives to improve the lives of their citizens.
