Inaba's Reinhabitation: Gathering All Known Facts Regarding the Resurfacing of Persona 4
Hey There,
Brace Yourself, It's Official! The long-running rumors have finally come to light. Persona 4 Remake is making a comeback, baby! It's been 17 years since the initial release on PS Vita, and let me tell ya, it's a much-welcomed revival. With all the whispers and speculation, it's a relief to have this game finally out in the open.
But don't get too excited; we still don't have much info to bite into.
A Whole New Look, Hallelujah! You might wonder, isn't Persona 4 Golden enough? To that, I'd say no way! Persona 4 Golden managed to get the 2008 game onto Steam, but its classic (for lack of better words) look basically made a good chunk of folks shy away from playing it. But fear not, Persona 4 Revival is here to change things with a complete visual overhaul, updating the game to match the current Persona series vibe.
The Info Thick as MudBesides its new looks, though, the scoop on what changes exactly, well, that's muddy water. We're pretty thin on the ground as far as info goes. We've gathered everything we've got on Persona 4 Revival, and we'll keep you posted as more info comes out to keep you in the loop of one of the most anticipated remakes.
When to Expect our Little Friend? So far, there's no release window for Persona 4 Revival yet. Even after the exciting trailer, we didn't even get a "coming soon." Instead, we got a "Wishlist now" screen, so it might take a while before we lay our hands on it. In fact, there's not even a Steam listing yet.
Get a Glimpse of the ActionThe first (and only) trailer for Persona 4 Revival was shared at the Xbox Games Showcase. Exciting as it was, it's still light on the specifics. We see shots of a Yasogami classroom, the Inaba Shopping District, the Samegawa Floodplain, and Mysterious Fox's shrine. But that's about it. At least it looks the part, and even this visual upgrade is enough to get players excited to jump back in.
What's Changing? It's tough to tell what's changing without seeing more in-depth gameplay. But if we must speculate... the procedurally generated dungeons from Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden might receive the same treatment as Persona 5, with each dungeon becoming fully designed instead. Having save points inside the dungeons would also be a nice touch, considering you couldn't take a break without leaving the dungeon entirely in the original game.
It's likely we'll see new dialogue between characters and updated music too, since some original voice actors weren't invited back for the remake, and a new cast definitely means new dialogue.
Combat will probably be modernized, with the baton pass system from Persona 5 possibly being implemented in some way. If the remake follows the footsteps of Persona 3 Reload, improved social links would be a welcome addition, and a visible relationship meter that pops up each time you talk to a character would make outcomes clearer.
