In this report, we announce the passing of the ex-mayor of Dießfurt at the age of 97.

In the picturesque town of Dießfurt, Germany, the community is mourning the loss of a beloved local figure, Johann Röisch, who passed away on November 5, 2023, at the age of 97. Known affectionately as the "Bavarian Hans," Röisch left an indelible mark on the town's history, particularly in the realm of club life and fire services.

Röisch served as the mayor of Dießfurt for 12 years before its incorporation into Pressath in 1978. During his tenure, he demonstrated remarkable dedication to the Dießfurt fire department, supporting its growth and development. His efforts led to the construction of a new fire equipment house and the acquisition of a fire truck, ensuring the department was well-equipped to serve the community.

Beyond his role as mayor, Röisch was deeply involved in the local football club, FC Dießfurt. He was a founding and honorary member, and his life motto, "We must stick together," resonated throughout the club. Röisch's brothers were also great supporters of the club, further strengthening the bond between them.

As a testament to his commitment, Röisch managed to convert the former schoolhouse into a sports clubhouse while serving as mayor. His dedication to club work extended beyond FC Dießfurt, as he served as an honorary member, secretary, commander, and chairman of the Dießfurt Fire Department.

In his later years, Röisch resided in a nursing home for the last one and a half years before his passing. Despite his retirement from public service, his legacy lived on, inspiring generations of Dießfurters.

Erhard Walberer, an honorary chairman of FC Dießfurt, shared poignant memories of Röisch, recalling his unwavering support and camaraderie. Röisch leaves behind a wife, three children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, all of whom carry on his legacy.

As the community grieves, they remember Röisch not just as a public figure, but as a man who significantly shaped local life through his lifelong commitment. His spirit will continue to live on in Dießfurt, inspiring future generations to come.

Meanwhile, the town of Mitterteich is preparing for a different kind of change. The Zoiglstube Oppl, a popular establishment, is set to close in November. Despite the closure, barrel sales continue, ensuring the tradition lives on.

Elsewhere in the region, three breads from the Weiden bakery Brunner have been awarded top marks, bringing joy to the local community.

In other news, a car salesman in Sulzbach-Rosenberg was robbed during a viewing, with a prospective buyer making off with 2000 euros. The Amberg Criminal Police are investigating the incident in Stetten near Neunburg vorm Wald, where a burnt-out car with a body was discovered.

As we navigate through these events, we remember Johann Röisch, a man who dedicated his life to Dießfurt, and whose legacy continues to inspire the community.
