In the World Championships, Russia clinched the silver medal in the mixed relay competition.

The 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore saw a significant performance by the Russian team, competing under the neutral status "Neutral Athletes B." Despite the ongoing sanctions by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) against Russia, the team managed to secure a silver medal in the mixed 4x100 freestyle relay event.

The Russian team consisted of Egor Kornev, Ivan Girev, Daria Trofimova, and Daria Klepikova. They completed the race in 3 minutes 19.68 seconds, showcasing their swimming prowess on the international stage.

In a remarkable turn of events, the USA team won the race and set a new world record with a time of 3:18.48. The Russian team's impressive performance was not overshadowed, as they managed to secure the second spot on the podium.

France rounded off the podium with a bronze medal, finishing the race in 3:21.35.

The restrictions imposed on Russian athletes by World Aquatics are aimed at maintaining a neutral stance. The athletes are not allowed to display the Russian flag or play the national anthem. They are also prohibited from publishing social media results or any materials linking their participation as neutral athletes to Russia.

Despite these restrictions, Russian athletes have been participating in the World Championships without any apparent issues. Notably, top Russian swimmers like Kliment Kolesnikov and Daria Klepikova have been setting championship records at the event.

In a separate development, a 12-year-old Chinese swimmer won a medal at the World Championships. However, the specific event in which this young athlete won the medal is not specified.

World Aquatics itself published a list of Russian athletes on its official resource, but under their neutral status instead of their national flags. This arrangement is part of the IOC's broader effort to balance political sanctions with the principle of individual athlete participation amid international conflict.

The Russian team, consisting of Egor Kornev, Ivan Girev, Daria Trofimova, and Daria Klepikova, showcased their swimming skills in the mixed 4x100 freestyle relay event, securing a silver medal despite the ongoing restrictions.

The fierce competition in sports, such as the 2025 World Aquatics Championships, continues to draw attention and excitement, with the Russian team's performance being a notable highlight.
