Reneé Rapp Unleashes "Bite Me": A Rebellious Pop Masterpiece

On August 1, 2025, American singer-songwriter and actress Reneé Rapp unveiled her sophomore album, "Bite Me," a bold and dynamic departure from her debut, "Snow Angel." This new release, filled with unfiltered attitude and raw emotion, showcases Rapp's growth as an artist and her willingness to experiment with genre and tone.

The album, spanning 12 tracks and 33 minutes, delves into themes of sex, fame, parties, obsession, resentment, and power dynamics. With its punk-spirited yet pop-infused sound, "Bite Me" channels influences from '90s alt-rock, early 2000s pop-punk, and glam synth-pop.

Rapp worked once again with her executive producer Alexander 23, along with heavyweight collaborators such as Omer Fedi and Ryan Tedder, to craft this dynamic and edgy album. The lead single, "Leave Me Alone," sets an aggressive and confrontational tone, while other tracks like "Mad" and "Why Is She Still Here?" balance aggression with playful takes on messy intimacy. Notably, her real-life partner Towa Bird features on the disco-tinged track "At Least I’m Hot," adding a flirtatious and lighter moment to the album.

"Bite Me" is a declaration of personal rebellion and emotional complexity, shedding vulnerability for attitude and exploring the raw and often chaotic facets of young fame and relationships. This contrasts with her 2023 debut album, "Snow Angel," marking clear artistic growth and a bold step towards experimentation.

Reneé Rapp, best known for her starring roles in the Broadway production of "Mean Girls" and its 2024 film adaptation, as well as the Max series "The Sex Lives of College Girls," brings her theatrical expressiveness, personal vulnerability, and now a much more unfiltered edge to "Bite Me."

With "Bite Me," Rapp wants listeners to feel the conflict and know they aren't alone in experiencing it, as she has been exploring since her 2022 EP, "Everything to Everyone." The lead single from the album, "Leave Me Alone," addresses Rapp's career, media frenzy, and external pressures. The track "That's So Funny" recounts the end of a toxic friendship in Rapp's signature soaring vocals.

The album also addresses a mix of emotions, including heartache, new crushes, and impostor syndrome. Rapp's lyrics, written in a manner similar to how she talks, offer a glimpse into her life, finding it empowering and fun to share her experiences with her audience.

In March 2026, Reneé Rapp will embark on a European tour, followed by the North American leg of her "Bite Me" tour at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater in September. The tour will include stops at New York's Madison Square Garden and as a headliner at the Toronto stop of the All Things Go Festival.

Rapp hopes her album offers listeners some reprieve and empowers them, creating a sense of a big party. With "Bite Me," Reneé Rapp has undoubtedly crafted an album that is as rebellious as it is catchy, a testament to her growth as an artist and her unapologetic approach to life and music.

In the vibrant city of Seattle, concertgoers can expect an electrifying entertainment experience as Reneé Rapp brings her "Bite Me" tour to the Red Rocks Amphitheater, showcasing her dynamic and edgy pop-punk music. Amidst the enchanting landscape of the theater, Rapp's rebellious pop masterpiece promises an unforgettable mix of music, drama, and substantive lyrical themes, making it a must-see event for fans of her uniquely candid approach to art and life.
