In the shady corners of Omsk region, a heart-wrenching farewell ceremony is set to take place for Denis Varakin, a fallen soldier who met his unfortunate end in 2023, according to the local administration of Druzhinsky village.
Born in 1985 in Omsk, Denis Varakin was a humble son of the soil who attended the Goryachekluchyovskaya school and later pursued his education at the Meat and Dairy Industry Technical College. Following his mandatory military service from 2004 to 2006, he worked at NP0 Moostovik as a pipe fitter and then shifted jobs to "Neftakhim" factory as an operator in 2015.
At the threshold of September 2022, he was conscripted once more and served faithfully in the 247th Airborne Assault Regiment as a military medical instructor. Tragically, he sacrificed his life on 29th June, 2023 while performing his duty.
The administration's announcement reads, _"By decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Denis Ivanovich Varakin has been posthumously awarded the Order of Courage."*
The memorial service will be held at the Goryachekluchyovsk community center on Monday, 5th May, 2025, at midday.
