On the 16th of July, two diaries were discovered in Zara's locker at school, marking the beginning of a series of events that would lead to her untimely demise. The following day, a wallet, which Zara was accused of stealing, was found in the school's academic block. However, no theft report was lodged with the wardens regarding this incident.

As the investigation unfolded, three diaries, two exercise books, and 15 pages of handwritten notes belonging to Zara were uncovered. A Form One student, during a search for the missing items, also found a Malaysian flag pin belonging to the dorm leader in Zara's room.

Initially, Zara was asked if she had stolen the items and was told to swear an oath, which she did, denying the accusation. However, when questioned again by the dorm leader, there were exchanges of harsh words between them, but Zara continued to maintain her innocence.

On the 17th of July, Zara tragically passed away at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She was buried at the Tanjung Ubi Muslim cemetery in Sipitang on the same day. It was on this day as well that a third diary and an exercise book were discovered among Zara's belongings.

The Attorney-General's Chambers ordered Zara's remains to be exhumed for a post-mortem on the 8th of August, and the Public Prosecutor's Office announced this decision on the 13th of August. An inquest into Zara's death was also announced on this date.

On the 19th of July, another teacher found 15 pages of diary entries hidden in Zara's classroom bookshelf. It is unclear whether these entries hold any clues to the circumstances surrounding Zara's death.

The wallet, discovered by a senior student, was not returned to its owner on the same night when Zara was questioned. The cash and other belongings inside the wallet remain missing. Azhari Abd Sagap, a 31-year-old individual, stated that a Form One student reported missing belongings to the dormitory leader, leading to Zara being summoned for questioning.

As the inquest continues, the community awaits answers to the many questions surrounding Zara's death. The truth, it seems, is still waiting to be uncovered.
