The small town of Basaluzzo, Italy, has taken significant steps to enhance its emergency response capabilities, thanks to generous support from various organisations.
At the heart of this initiative is the Basaluzzo Administration, which has purchased a set of equipment optimised for emergency situations. This includes a winch with an arm, a water pump, a generator set, a trailer, and other valuable tools. The town has also acquired a trailer and a set of equipment specifically designed for use during flood and bad weather conditions, as well as for earthquake rescue operations.
The acquisitions were made possible by the generous donations of two organisations - Enertech and the Cassa di Risparmio Alessandria Foundation. Enertech contributed 5,459 euros, while the foundation provided additional support of the same amount.
The equipment purchased by the Basaluzzo Administration is intended for use by the municipal Civil Protection volunteers. These volunteers play a crucial role in providing reports and assistance to law enforcement during incidents or medical emergencies. With the new equipment, they are now better equipped to handle a wider variety of emergencies, particularly those involving elderly individuals living alone in remote areas.
Mayor Gianfranco Ludovici expressed his gratitude for the support, stating, "We are grateful for the generous donations that have allowed us to expand the range of equipment available for emergency situations. This equipment will undoubtedly make a significant difference in our ability to respond effectively to emergencies and ensure the safety of our residents."
The acquisition of these tools marks a significant milestone in Basaluzzo's ongoing efforts to improve its emergency response capabilities. The town's Civil Protection volunteers are now better prepared to face any challenges that may arise, ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
