In the coming 2025-2026 season, the city puppet theater Öcher Schängche will make its debut.
The Öcher Sängche Puppet Theater in Aachen is gearing up for an exciting new season, filled with captivating performances for both young and old. Here's a rundown of the upcoming shows and events.
Starting the season on September 21st is the premiere of "The Devil in Aachen" at 3 PM. This will be followed by the first premiere of the season, "The Rat Catcher in Aachen" by Wilhelm Dithmar, on September 28th, also at 3 PM.
For adults, there's a revival of the successful play "The Sealed Mayor" on October 9th, November 6th, and December 4th. A notable revival is "The Freischütz" by Hein Janssen, who is known for his work in the puppetry theatre, on May 7, 2026.
Ina Gröbner joins the lively ensemble of the city puppet theater this season. The adaptation of "The Freischütz" for the puppet theater presents a strong contrast between the essentially gloomy atmosphere of the story and the comedy brought by Nieres as the shooting king and Sängche.
The city puppet theater will present itself at the great summer festival in the Kulturhaus Barockfabrik on September 20th, at 3 PM. A colorful program includes "Princess Tausendschön" from November 2nd, "King Drosselbart or A Sängche Helps Out" from November 30th, "Tom Thumb" from February 8, 2026, and "The Magic Cauldron" from March 8, 2026.
Tickets can be reserved for adult plays from Monday to Thursday from 10 AM to 12:30 PM, either by phone at 0241 172016 or by email: [email protected] Webseite.de. For children's plays, reservations can be made on the day of performance from 10 AM to 12:30 PM. Admission prices for adults are 5 Euro, reduced 3 Euro, and for children are 3 Euro, reduced 2 Euro.
