In the Asia Cup 2025, India ousts Oman, clinching a 21-run victory and securing a flawless group stage performance.

In a thrilling encounter at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium on September 19, 2025, Team India triumphed over Oman by 21 runs in the Asia Cup 2025.

India, electing to bat first, put up a challenging total of 188 for 8. The innings was marked by a 41-ball fifty from Sanju Samson, who was named Player of the Match, and a quick-fire 38 off 15 balls from Abhishek Sharma. Arshdeep Singh, the star bowler, claimed his 100th T20I wicket, making history as the first Indian bowler to achieve this milestone.

Harshit Rana remained unbeaten on 13* off 8 balls, providing a strong finish for the Indian team. However, it was Suryakumar Yadav who was seen engaging with the Oman team after the match, taking pictures with them, despite being placed at No. 11 for India and not getting a chance to bat.

Oman's response was led by Hammad Mirza's well-made half-century and a brilliant 64 runs from Aamir Kaleem, who kept the innings together during the chase. Jatinder Singh and Aamir Kaleem held the crease for Oman, but disciplined bowling from India, including two wickets each for Jiten Ramanandi and Aamir Kaleem, restricted Oman's score.

Left-arm seamer Shah Faisal bowled a tight spell for Oman, taking two wickets, including Shubman Gill for 5, and maintaining an economy rate under a run a ball. Despite their firepower, Oman could not match India's total, falling 21 runs short.

With this win, India will face Pakistan in their first Super 4 match on Sunday, 21 September. Unfortunately, Oman, along with Afghanistan, UAE, and Hong Kong, have been eliminated from the tournament as they remained winless in their three games.

Tilak Varma contributed 29 off 18 balls for India, providing valuable support in the innings. As the Asia Cup 2025 continues, India will look to maintain their form and progress further in the tournament.
