In the AFC Champions League, a dramatic late goal by Teen Annayev gave Ahal FK a 1-0 victory over Mohun Bagan, with the Mariners suffering the loss.

In a thrilling encounter at the Salt Lake Stadium, Turkmen footballer Enwer Annayev scored the decisive goal in the 83rd minute to give Ahal FK a 1-0 win over Mohun Bagan in their Group C match of the AFC Champions League 2.

The goal came after a precise through ball from Basim Gurbanberdiyew, who plays for FC Ahal. Gurbanberdiyew showed fine vision to thread the pass inside the box, while Annayev kept his composure to finish the play with a calm left-footed strike.

Mohun Bagan's defence looked rusty and error-prone throughout the match, inviting pressure from the Turkmen side. The goalkeeper for Mohun Bagan was Vishal Kaith, but he was unable to prevent Annayev's strike.

The defeat leaves Mohun Bagan with tough questions ahead of their next Group C outing, an away clash against Iranian giants Sepahan on October 21.

The match started with Mohun Bagan showing promising wing play, but they struggled in attack throughout the game, missing the injured Manvir Singh. Earlier in the game, Mohun Bagan had a close chance when Elman Tagayew's deflection off a low cross hit the crossbar.

In the 69th minute, Dimitri Petratos and Jason Cummings combined for a chance for Mohun Bagan, but Ahal's goalkeeper Kakageldi Berdiyev made a brilliant save to deny Jamie Maclaren.

Gurbanberdiyew and Annayev combined almost immediately after entering the game as substitutes in the 79th minute, but they were unable to find a second goal for Ahal.

The match was part of Group C in the AFC Champions League 2, with both teams looking to secure a place in the next round. Despite the loss, Mohun Bagan will be determined to bounce back and challenge for the top spot in the group.
