Powerlifter Yulia Medvedeva Breaks World Records and Overcomes Criticism

Yulia Medvedeva, a 46-year-old powerlifter from Novosibirsk, has made a name for herself in the world of powerlifting, setting several world records in various events. Her impressive feats have earned her recognition, but she has also faced criticism and online harassment, particularly regarding her appearance.

Medvedeva's journey into powerlifting began in her senior years, inspired by sports magazines like "World of Bodybuilding". She started training regularly and, over time, her dedication and hard work paid off. In Barnaul, she set an eternal record in the bench press without equipment, lifting an impressive 172.5 kg. This was just the beginning of her impressive career.

In 2012, Medvedeva made history by setting a world record in the bench press with 200 kg, while weighing only 75 kg. This record still stands. A year later, she met her first husband, who was seeking her help to prepare for powerlifting competitions. They got married and had a daughter, who has since followed in her mother's footsteps and achieved Master of Sport status in strict bicep curls.

Medvedeva's accomplishments continue to pile up. In 2016, she set a record in the deadlift at the World Championship in Moscow with 230 kg. Her biggest achievement came six years ago in Sochi, where she lifted an impressive 235 kg. She has also set an absolute women's record at the St. Petersburg championship.

Despite her numerous accolades, Medvedeva has faced criticism, particularly in Anapa where people have questioned her gender. However, she continues to compete in both veteran and open categories, focusing on her training and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. She trains 5-7 times a week and avoids smoking and alcohol.

Medvedeva has trained dozens of students who have become Masters of Sport in bodybuilding. She is not only a successful athlete but also a judge in powerlifting competitions and conducts training sessions across various cities.

Despite the negative comments and online harassment, Medvedeva remains positive and focused. She values genuine friendship and non-betrayal above all else. Her daughter has been accompanying her to powerlifting competitions since the age of 8, continuing the family's legacy in the sport. At 46, Medvedeva feels much younger, ready to continue breaking records and inspiring others.

During her illustrious career, Yulia Medvedeva, a renowned powerlifter, has not only set several world records in powerlifting events but also found inspiration in sports magazines dedicated to bodybuilding.
