Eager to kick off the new Russian football season, Lokomotiv midfielder Alexei Batrov has revealed his admiration for the world's greatest soccer stars and his aspirations for the future. In a candid chat with "Match TV", the 19-year-old prodigy named his idols and the team he yearns to join.
When asked about his favorite footballer, Batrov candidly admitted that Lionel Messi is unparalleled, but he draws the most inspiration from Cristiano Ronaldo. "Take a peek at Cristiano Ronaldo's social media, he's nothing if not committed," Batrov shared.
With his eyes set on the stars, Batrov singled out Barcelona as his dream club. "I'd trot all the way there if they gave me a call," he declared, as reported by the Match TV journalist.
Last season, Batrov demonstrated his incredible potential, scoring a remarkable 15 goals and earning 10 assists in 37 appearances across all competitions. His stellar performance earned him the title of Russia's best young footballer of 2024 and a well-deserved spot on the national team.
