Alexander Ovechkin Breaks NHL Goal-Scoring Record, Celebrated with Collectibles
Alexander Ovechkin, the legendary Russian ice hockey player, has once again made history in the National Hockey League (NHL). On a memorable day, he scored his 895th goal, surpassing Wayne Gretzky's record for most goals in regular NHL seasons. To commemorate this momentous occasion, Monumental Sports Authentics, in collaboration with Cllct, has released four collectible miniatures.
Ovechkin, who has played for Washington Capitals throughout his entire NHL career since 2005, has been a consistent force in the league. His achievements include multiple individual trophies, such as the Hart Trophy, Ted Lindsay Award, Art Ross Trophy, Calder Trophy, and the Mark Messier Award, which he has won three times each. Moreover, he has been honoured with the Maurice Richard Trophy nine times.
Outside of the NHL, Ovechkin has had a highly successful international career playing for Russia. He has competed in thirteen World Championships, winning gold medals in 2008, 2012, and 2014, as well as several silver and bronze medals. Additionally, Ovechkin has represented Russia in three Winter Olympic Games (2006, 2010, and 2014), scoring a notable game-winning power-play goal against Canada in the 2006 Olympics during his first Olympic appearance.
The collectibles released by Monumental Sports Authentics and Cllct include an authentic sample of the rink net used during pre-game warm-ups and pieces of ice from the historic game, sealed in acrylic cubes. Each souvenir comes with a letter of authenticity from Cllct. Prices for the collectibles range from $895 to $1499.
