The dominator is reigning supreme yet again! Tadej Pogačar pulled off another victory at the Tour of Flanders, getting revenge for his recent loss to Mathieu van der Poel at Milan-San Remo.

Claiming his second title at the historic Belgian cobblestone classic, Pogačar bested cycling titans and out-muscled arch-nemesis van der Poel in a gripping showdown. Cameras rolled as he crossed the finish line on Sunday, jubilantly embracing his teammates after conquering 269 grueling kilometers in Oudenaarde.

Setting the stage for his debut at Paris-Roubaix, Pogačar unleashed a formidable attack 18 kilometers from the finish, soaring up the cobbled ascent of Oude Kwaremont. Van der Poel, who would have secured a solo record of four Tour of Flanders victories, couldn't keep apace the powerful Slovenian.

Van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) trailed in second place, a minute behind, while Danish former world champion Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) sneaked in third.

Despite the heroics by teammate Nils Politt, who ably assisted Pogačar at Team UAE Emirates-XRG, German riders weren't as prominent in this year's race. Veteran John Degenkolb had to abandon the race after a crash, casting doubt on his participation in the upcoming Paris-Roubaix. Only two German victories have been achieved at the Ronde since its inception in 1913: Rudi Altig in 1964 and Steffen Wesemann in 2004.

Thousands of fans delighted in the scene along the route, their extraordinary support offering an additional adrenaline boost to the racers, especially during the critical 17 climbs, the legendary Hellingen, and the flat cobblestone sections[1].

Cycling enthusiasts found Pogačar's victory at Strade Bianche and the UAE Tour in 2025 and his win at the World Championships in 2023 as precursors to his impressive 2025 Tour of Flanders performance[2][3].
