In a recent statement, Rahul Gandhi claims that the number of voters in Maharashtra exceeds the state's total population.

In Maharashtra, Rahul Gandhi claims there are more registered voters than the actual state population.

In a significant move, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed a joint press conference in New Delhi, urging the Election Commission of India to disclose the list of voters and address the issue of alleged irregularities in the voter lists of Maharashtra.

Gandhi claimed that the total number of voters added between Lok Sabha and assembly elections in Maharashtra is equivalent to the population of Himachal Pradesh. This assertion follows the Election Commission's instruction to update voter lists in Maharashtra, a routine process ahead of the 2024 election.

The Congress, Shiv Sena-UBT, and NCP-SS have also joined the chorus, alleging irregularities in the voter lists of Maharashtra. The BJP, however, has accused Gandhi of trying to create chaos in India, similar to Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has been asked to address the allegations of irregularities in the voter lists. The Commission has not yet issued a formal statement on the matter.

Separately, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Greek Prime Minister have reaffirmed their strategic ties during their meeting in Athens. The Chief Justice of India (CJI) also made headlines for stating his respect for all religions following online backlash.

This development comes as a significant political drama unfolds in Maharashtra, with the opposition parties demanding transparency and the ruling party accusing the opposition of spreading false claims. The Election Commission's response to these allegations will be closely watched in the coming days.
