In Heimfeld this year's final monarch of Harburg was declared by the king himself.

In the picturesque town of Heimfeld, nestled within the Harburg district of Hamburg, a historic moment took place on Sunday evening. Niels Kreller, a well-respected member of the Heimfelder Schützen, was officially crowned as the new king of this traditional shooting club.

Niels Kreller, known for his dedication to the Heimfelder Schützen, has held various leadership positions within the organisation. His roles have ranged from organising events to representing the club in community and regional matters related to shooting sports and local traditions.

The crowning ceremony was a significant event, not just for Niels Kreller, but for the entire Heimfelder Schützen community. The moment of coronation came when Niels Kreller shot down the wooden bird's body with the 706th shot, a feat that also wrote a bit of Heimfelder Schützen history.

Interestingly, Niels Kreller is the first king to be awarded the King's Order as their first award, with the exception of the first king after the club's founding in 1890. It is unlikely that there will be another majesty among the Heimfelder Schützen who receives this honour as their first award.

Prior to his coronation, Niels Kreller had not initially considered taking on the role of king. However, his commitment to the club and his leadership skills made him an ideal candidate for the position.

Claudia Klensang, who serves as the vice-queen of Niels Kreller in Heimfeld, will accompany him at balls and events. Mareike Ringel, another member of the Heimfelder Schützen, will also be by his side as queen.

It's worth noting that in Heimfeld, men and women do not shoot in separate groups, a testament to the club's inclusivity and shared camaraderie.

Anna-Sophie Becker, who was crowned young queen, will likely follow in the footsteps of Niels Kreller and continue to uphold the traditions and values of the Heimfelder Schützen.

The crowning of Niels Kreller marks a new era for the Heimfelder Schützen, and his reign promises to be marked by continued commitment, tradition, and camaraderie.

Niels Kreller, despite his dedication mainly to shooting sports within the Heimfelder Schützen, expressed an openness to other sports as well, often cheering for matches in local stadiums during his free time.

Claudia Klensang, alongside her royal duties as vice-queen, also excels in various other sports, proving that her multifaceted abilities make her an invaluable asset to the Heimfelder Schützen.
