In France, a bus accident proves fatal, hospitalizing nine Ukrainian students.

In a heart-wrenching turn of events, nine students from Chernivtsi Oblast, Ukraine, are currently nursing serious injuries in French hospitals following a bus crash that claimed the lives of three fellow travelers.

This tragic incident, happening on June 13, occurred while the group was returning from an academic exchange in France. The bus they were traveling in veered off the road in the Sarthe department, ultimately flipping into a ditch due to circumstances yet to be fully understood.

The aftermath was devastating, leaving four dead and necessitating medical attention for 21 people. Nine victims suffered severe injuries, and two initial victims were in critical condition.

Ruslan Zaparaniuk, governor of Chernivtsi Oblast, took to Facebook to inform the public about the hospitalized students, assuring everyone that they were stabilized. He also shared that other passengers had received the necessary aid and were now safe.

Ukraine's Embassy in France is swinging into action to help the injured children return home and support the parents who wish to visit their hospitalized children in France.

According to the embassy, a diplomatic team spearheaded by Ambassador Vadym Omelchenko traveled to the crash site and is still stationed in Sarthe, providing support to the victims and coordinating with French authorities.

Two victims remain in critical condition, while the rest are receiving medical treatment and support from both Ukrainian and French medical teams. President Volodymyr Zelensky extended his condolences in a statement on June 13 and thanked the French authorities for their speedy response and solidarity.

Although specific updates about the recovery progress of the hospitalized students are scarce, French doctors are actively treating them, working tirelessly to help them recuperate. The Ukrainian Embassy in France is doing its utmost to support the victims and their families, ensuring communication between the injured students and their parents.
