In Cheboksary, local athlete Fyodor Shishlynikov clinched the Master of Sports title
In the bustling city of Cheboksary, Russia, from July 25 to 27, junior (under 23) athletics competitions were held, attracting athletes from all over the country. Among the participants were Fedor Shishlyannikov and Vladimir Pavlenko, both hailing from Zabaykalsk.
Fedor Shishlyannikov made a significant mark in these competitions, earning the title of Master of Sports through his impressive performance in the 5000 meters distance. He clocked a time of 14 minutes, a feat that secured him the prestigious title. He won his heat in the 1500 meters distance, improving his personal bests on both the 1500 meters and 5000 meters distances. Despite a close call, he finished fourth in the 1500 meters distance, missing the bronze medal by a mere 0.06 seconds.
These junior competitions marked a significant achievement for both athletes, with Pavlenko building on his success from winning the Russian championship in the under 20 age category prior to the Cheboksary competitions.
Daniil Batuev, a well-known Russian athlete in the field of racewalking, has also made a name for himself in Cheboksary's junior competitions. Known for his notable performances in these events, Batuev has been one of the prominent young racewalkers representing Russia.
