The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards are set to be a star-studded event, with a host of talented artists vying for the coveted awards.
Leading the pack is Lady Gaga, who has topped the nominations with an impressive 12 nods. Close behind is Bruno Mars with 11 nominations and Kendrick Lamar with 10. This year, the awards will feature two new categories - best country and best pop artist. The awards will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2025, at the UBS Arena just outside New York City. The event will be broadcast live on CBS and MTV, with streaming available on Paramount+. A one-hour, live preshow will air across Paramount Media Networks.

Beyoncé and Taylor Swift are tied for the most career total VMAs with 30 each. If either of them wins the artist of the year award, they will become the most-awarded musician in VMA history. Voting in the best new artist category will remain active during the show.
