In 2022, Splatoon 3 is set to venture into uncharted, ink-free realms on the Nintendo Switch console.
The latest Nintendo Direct video, available at our website, showcases an array of upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch. Here are some highlights:
Star Wars: Hunters, a free-to-play online multiplayer game set between the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is set to launch in 2021.
In the world of Mario, Mario Golf: Super Rush is the newest installment in the series, featuring new modes, motion controls, and a variety of courses. The game is slated for release in 2021, although a specific date has not been announced.
Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse is making its way to the Nintendo Switch on March 16. This zombie-themed action-adventure game promises hours of undead fun.
Samurai Warriors 5 is another exciting addition to the Nintendo Switch library. This action title focuses on Nobunaga Oda and Mitsuhide Akechi, with revamped character designs, a vibrant, illustrated art style, and is set to be released this summer.
Fans of the No More Heroes series will be pleased to know that No More Heroes 3 is launching on Nintendo Switch on Aug. 27.
For those who enjoy action games based on animated TV shows, DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power is an exciting new option, launching on June 4.
The Nintendo Direct video also revealed that Splatoon 3 is coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2022. Set in the Splatlands region, this new game in the series introduces new weapons, customization options, and movement abilities.
In the tactical role-playing genre, Project TRIANGLE STRATEGY (working title) from SQUARE ENIX is an intriguing new game. Battles take place on terrain with different elevations, and decisions affect the story. A free demo for the game is available for download today.
Bravely Default II is another exciting RPG, launching exclusively for Nintendo Switch on Feb. 26.
Knockout City, a new team-based dodgeball game, is set to launch for Nintendo Switch on May 21.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is receiving items inspired by the Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary, including Super Mushrooms, "?" Blocks, and Warp Pipes. The new items will be available starting on March 1.
Pyra/Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 are the latest DLC fighters joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. They will be available as part of Fighters Pass Vol. 2, which also includes Min Min from ARMS, Steve & Alex from Minecraft, Sephiroth from Final Fantasy, and two yet-to-be-announced fighters.
MONSTER HUNTER RISE features a new Rampage story event and a Nintendo Switch Deluxe Edition system, which comes bundled with the game and Deluxe Kit DLC. The Deluxe Edition system will be available on March 26.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout challenges players to claim the crown, with up to 60 players running, jumping, and shoving their way to victory. It will be released for Nintendo Switch this summer.
Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection is launching for Nintendo Switch on Feb. 25, with local co-op play available for the first time in the series.
Splatoon 3's original release date is confirmed as September 9, 2022. The Expansion Pass DLC called "Side Order" has released DLC waves as recently as 2023 and later, but the base game release date remains in 2022.
Unfortunately, no specific release dates for new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC, Mario Golf: Super Rush, Project Triangle Strategy, or Star Wars: Hunters were found in the most recent Nintendo Direct information available.
Other games announced include Legend of Mana, returning with fully remastered HD graphics, rearranged music, and additional features, launching for Nintendo Switch on June 24. Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection is coming to Nintendo Switch in June, featuring three action-packed entries in the acclaimed Ninja Gaiden series. Miitopia is a game starring customizable Mii characters, with expanded customization options, including Wigs and Makeup, and a horse as an ally. It will be released on May 21. World's End Club is a game that blends side-scrolling action with a suspenseful narrative, launching for Nintendo Switch on May 28. SaGa Frontier Remastered is an adventure not to be missed, launching for Nintendo Switch on April 15.
In addition, the physical edition of hit game Hades is being released, and Capcom Arcade Stadium, a collection of Capcom's most beloved arcade classics, is launching for Nintendo Switch later today. Neon White, a first-person action game about exterminating demons in Heaven, is set to launch for Nintendo Switch this winter.
