Imran urges Gandapur to step down if peace does not return in KP

In a recent development, Aleema Khan, the sister of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, has announced that her sons, Suleiman Khan and Kasim Khan, have applied for the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP). However, there seems to be some confusion regarding the visa issue.

Aleema Khan reported that the young men had previously possessed NICOP, but it has since been lost. She also noted that a news report surfaced stating that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would be issuing the visa, not the Ministry of Interior. However, when she reached out to the ambassador, she reported that the ambassador is currently not answering any queries regarding the visa issue.

In a curious turn of events, Aleema Khan mentioned that a friend called the ambassador regarding the visa issue, stating that permission needs to be taken from the Ministry of Interior. This adds another layer of complexity to the situation.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan, who has been in prison since August 2023 following multiple cases of corruption and terrorism charges since his ouster from power via the opposition's no-trust motion in April 2022, has been making headlines for different reasons.

Imran Khan has expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) under Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. He has hinted at resignation if peace is not restored, but Gandapur’s office denies that Imran has formally demanded his resignation and maintains a narrative of loyalty to Imran Khan’s leadership.

Imran also opposes further military operations in the province, advocating a different approach to security. This stance came amid ongoing security operations such as 'Operation Sarbakaf' against terrorists in the region, which have resulted in significant casualties among civilians and security forces.

In a separate incident, Imran Khan has reportedly disapproved of his sister Aleema’s recent remarks about Mishal Yousafzai becoming a senator, calling them unnecessary and advising her to refrain from political commentary. Imran Khan, the PTI founder, has barred his children, who reside in the United Kingdom, from travelling to Pakistan and participating in any political activity.

Despite these political tensions, the application for NICOP for Imran Khan's sons remains a point of interest. The situation is evolving, and updates on the visa issue are eagerly awaited.

  4. In a twist of political events, Imran Khan has criticized his sister Aleema for her comments about Mishal Yousafzai becoming a senator, and has barred his children, residing in the United States, from traveling to Pakistan and participating in any political activity.
  5. Simultaneously, in the world of politics, Imran Khan's opposition to the current Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has led to a standoff, with Gandapur's office denying any demand for Imran's resignation.
  6. The ongoing visa issue for Suleiman Khan and Kasim Khan, brothers of Aleema Khan, remains a point of interest amidst Pakistan's crime-and-justice news, as updates on their NICOP application are highly anticipated.
