Sport-Union Neckarsulm Shuffles Roster Amid Youth Push

Pascal Marche, the head coach of Sport-Union Neckarsulm, has extended his contract, ensuring continuity at the helm of the first team. Meanwhile, Nicolai Spiegl takes charge of the second team, following the departures of key players.

In the second team, Spiegl finds himself with a significantly younger squad, with an average age estimated to be under 20 years. The team's core comprises the 2007 generation, including Marwa Guettou, Charlotte Korn, Elena Schacht, Finia Siegle, and Jette Zimprich, who will take on increased responsibility.

The backroom staff for the second team includes Anna Aurenz, Trixi Hanak, Elena Schacht, Rebecca Schäfer, Finia Siegle, Ronja Wiesenmayer, Jette Zimprich, and Sophie Zischka. Catherine Gerold, Rebecca Schäfer, Trixi Hanak, and Lina Schrembs are expected to have particular responsibilities in the future.

The team's focus this season is on staying in the league, given the lack of experienced players. The initial phase of preparation has been on ensuring that all players develop the same understanding of defensive work. The coordination of the goalkeeper training has not yet been decided.

The second team has lost quality and experience due to the departures of Verena Breidert, Stephanie Daehnel, Ina Hernandez, Sophie Lütke, and Celia Schneider. However, Spiegl remains confident in his team, emphasizing that setting a third-place goal again would not be realistic.

Nicolai Spiegl, the former co-trainer, is now in charge of the second team. Gernot Drossel, Neckarsulm's handball coordinator, is currently in talks with a new co-trainer for the second team.

On the field, Charlotte Korn and Lina Schrembs are the circle players, while Catherine Gerold, Elisa Gomes-Shala, Marwa Guettou, and Silja Willy are the wings for Sport-Union Neckarsulm II. Viktoria Lachmann, Karina Martel, and Hannah Wagner are the goalkeepers for the second team.

Despite the challenges ahead, Spiegl's team is ready to face the season with determination and a renewed focus on development and teamwork. The future may be uncertain, but the spirit of Sport-Union Neckarsulm II remains undeterred.
