Got some suggestions on how to improve your neighborhood courtyards or public spaces in Komi Republic? Now's your chance to make a difference! The voting for the objects to be revamped in 2026 is still on until the evening of June 12, according to the press service of the regional leader.

Residents from regions like Syktyvkar, Ukhta, Vorkuta, Inta, and Pechora can voice their opinions and vote on the website provided.

As of June 5, a substantial number of votes have already been cast. In Syktyvkar alone, 27,465 residents have made their choices, followed by Ukhta with 10,158 votes, Vorkuta with 6,611, Inta with 2,319, and Pechora with 3,776.

Cities like Sosnogorsk, Ekmva, and Zhashart have also shown active participation with 2,588, 1,460, and 831 votes casted, respectively.

Since 2025, enhancing the urban environment has been a component of the national project "Infrastructure for Life."

Over the past five years, no fewer than 854 spaces, including 488 public territories and 366 courtyards, have undergone improvements across 46 urban and rural settlements in Komi. In 2025, public and courtyard spaces garnering the most votes in a 2024 public rating will be revamped. A total of 84 sites are planned for improvement this summer, with 40 public spaces and 44 courtyards set for a makeover.

From entertainment zones to pedestrian walkways, 34 projects and 2 design proposals are up for grabs in nine municipalities:

  • Inta: Improvement plans for two sites near "Detskiy Mir" square and Lenin Square
  • Usiнsk: Plans for two children's playgrounds on Ulitsa 60 Let Oktyabrya and Ulitsa Lenina
  • Ekmva: Two options for redesigning the Family Rest Park
  • Sosnogorsk: Plans for three pedestrian zones
  • Syktyvkar: Proposals for improvement in various city areas
  • Zhashart: Arrangement plans for two sidewalks
  • Uhta: Proposals for two public spaces
  • Pechora: Arrangement plans for two sidewalks
  • Vorkuta: Plans for three squares
