Feeling the heat in June isn't all sunshine and roses in parts of Germany. The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued a severe weather warning, with thunderstorms, storms, and rain on the horizon:
Stormy Skies Await
As the day progresses, DWD anticipates individual heavy thunderstorms in the south, parts of the east, and the southern center. These could bring heavy rain of up to 20 liters per square meter in a short time, small hail, and gusts of up to 70 km/h (Bft 8 to 9). In the south, conditions could be even more intense, with the potential for localized severe weather, heavy rain of up to 30 liters per square meter, large hail, and gusts of up to 80 km/h (Bft 9). The north may witness brief thunderstorms, hail, and gusts of up to 65 km/h (Bft 8).
The rest of the country remains partly cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the east and north. Mostly, it will stay dry. Temperatures in the northwest hover between 17 and 20 degrees, while they range from 21 to 24 degrees elsewhere. Light to moderate winds from the west to northwest prevail.
