These rain events are associated with multiple western disturbances and cyclonic circulations impacting the Himalayan states and adjacent plains. The rain is likely to be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, with localized flooding and waterlogging possible in hilly areas of Uttarakhand and plains of East Rajasthan due to the intensity of rainfall.
Disruptions in daily life, transport, and outdoor activities are expected due to these weather hazards. Residents in vulnerable zones are advised to exercise increased caution due to the risk of flooding and landslides in hilly terrains.

Certain areas in East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, and interior Odisha may experience extremely heavy downpours on July 8. Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir are also on alert for heavy rainfall on July 8.
Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are forecast to experience isolated heavy rainfall from July 8 to 13. Heavy rainfall with very heavy spells is expected in Madhya Pradesh from July 8 to July 13. Coastal Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe are forecast to have isolated heavy rainfall from July 8 to 13.
