The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, a renowned whiskey producer, has formed an unusual alliance with Scotland's first fragrance house. This partnership aims to explore the captivating connection between whiskey and perfume by pairing the society's exclusive single cask whiskies with two new fragrances.
The fragrances, Metamorphic and Portal, were especially created for the holiday season. Metamorphic, inspired by metamorphic rock, combines black pepper, tobacco, incense, minerals, and rose absolute. As it warms on the skin, it reveals a base of amber resin and leather, making it a perfect match for the Lightly Peated flavor profile from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. Metamorphic is aligned with the SMWS bottling "Peat fire tales on Orkney."
On the other hand, Portal exhibits a refreshing, outdoorsy aroma with hints of herbaceous botanicals, bergamot, green vetiver, and Scots pine. Its spirit counterpart is "Summer garden curiosity."
