Immediate Departure of Patz from Jahn - Beierlorzer Seeks New Leadership - Immediate Departure of Patz from Jahn - Beierlorzer Seeks New Leadership
Get ready for some changes at SSV Jahn Regensburg! After a season filled with highs and highs, the club has decided to part ways with head coach Andreas Patz. This decision comes following a series of talks and analyses, which resulted in both parties agreeing it's time for a fresh start in the 3. Liga with new impulses and a new profile in the coaching setup.
Patz, who took over as the interim head coach following the parting of ways with Joe Enochs last year, has been a significant contributor to the club, particularly during the promotion season from the 3. Liga. However, despite his efforts, the team, assembled with limited financial resources, failed to secure a non-relegation spot in the 2. Bundesliga.
"We unfortunately did not achieve the desired results in recent months to secure our place in the 2nd Bundesliga. This is very painful for me. As head coach, I bear a great responsibility for the development, and therefore, I believe it is a consistent and jointly made decision," Patz explained.
In a statement, sports director Achim Beierlorzer added, "After an intensive and critical, but always open and honest exchange with Andi Patz, we have jointly decided to part ways. We want a fresh start in the 3rd league and therefore want to tackle the upcoming challenges with new impulses and a new profile in the coaching team."
For the remaining two games of the season, current assistant coach Munier Raychouni will act as interim coach against Karlsruher SC and SV Darmstadt 98. Beierlorzer will now be on the hunt for the future boss on the sidelines. Jahn is mathematically relegated as the bottom of the table after the draw against Cologne last Saturday, having collected only 24 points in 32 games.
Andreas Patz, a 41-year-old coach, opted against a farewell tour with SSV Jahn Regensburg due to "personal reasons," as stated. The Nuremberg debacle was his chance to showcase his skills, but unfortunately, he wasn't able to lead the team into the non-relegation zone.
In the spirit of transparency and fresh beginnings, let's raise a glass to SSV Jahn Regensburg and wish them the best of luck in the 3. Liga! The search for a new leader is on, and who knows what exciting opportunities lie ahead for this talented team.
