Headline: Claudia Sheinbaum Announces Updates on Various Issues in Mexico

In a series of announcements, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo has addressed several key issues currently affecting Mexico.

During a recent discussion, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited the National Palace to discuss the renewal of the USMCA agreement. President Sheinbaum Pardo confirmed a consensus among the member countries to renew the agreement.

On the domestic front, President Sheinbaum Pardo emphasised the importance of not abusing amparos in light of the Supreme Court's resolution regarding reform. She also believes that the attempts to detain President López Obrador's sons through amparos are part of a campaign to harm and discredit the 4T and former President López Obrador. However, she stated that President López Obrador's sons are not mentioned in the fiscal fuel theft investigation.

In terms of infrastructure, the Mexican Government is constructing the Querétaro-Irapuato Train. The first 30.3-kilometer stretch is planned to be completed by 2027, with the train expected to reach maximum speeds between 160 and 200 km/h.

More control is being put on the output from refineries, according to Sheinbaum Pardo. She also highlighted the implementation of traceability in Dos Bocas refinery operations.

President Sheinbaum Pardo stated that investigations into Hernán Bermúdez Requena, former Tabasco Public Security Secretary, are ongoing. It was recently announced that Bermúdez Requena, also known as "El Abuelo", has been expelled from Paraguay and is currently in Colombia. He is expected to depart from Colombia and travel to Mexico to face justice. Adán Augusto López Hernández serves as the president of the Senate committee overseeing the investigation into Bermúdez Requena.

A notable development in the realm of law enforcement occurred when Rafael "Caro" Quintero, a drug trafficker accused of assassinating DEA agent Enrique Camarena, was handed over for national security reasons.

President Sheinbaum Pardo also confirmed President López Obrador's continued popularity among the Mexican people.
