Image depicts an outdated portrayal of Antonio Banderas attending a gala in aid of the Israel Defense Forces.
Antonio Banderas attended a charity event in 2015, but recent speculation about the image of him posing with a member of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has been misleading.
The image, taken by photographer Noam Chem, was captured at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles on November 5, 2015. The event was a fundraiser for the Israeli army, organized by Friends of Israel Defense Forces (FIDF). Approximately 1,200 people attended the annual gala.
CBS reported on the event, mentioning that Banderas, musician Gene Simmons, and actors Mark Wahlberg and Jason Alexander were among the attendees. The news about Banderas' participation in the charity event was also reported by The Algemeiner.
The image, which shows Banderas posing with a woman in military attire, was published by The Times of Israel on November 16, 2015. The FIDF acronym can be seen in the background of the image. The Getty agency also spread other images of the event featuring Banderas.
However, it is important to note that the image does not depict any recent activities of Antonio Banderas. In fact, the Verificaour website has alerted about misleading messages without context, such as candidates in Canada's 2018 elections and a comparison of spending on fire prevention and bullfighting promotion in Extremadura.
Despite the misleading messages, the image of Banderas at the 2015 charity event serves as a reminder of his ongoing commitment to supporting various causes. No current records of the photo or a similar one were found in communication media and news agencies, highlighting the importance of verifying information before sharing it.
