Iloilo City’s Zero-Casualty Triumph After Typhoon Tino’s Wrath
Iloilo City has completed a post-disaster assessment following Typhoon Tino, which struck on November 4, 2025. The city's response was evaluated, with a focus on identifying areas for improvement. Mayor Raisa Treñas led the efforts, ensuring the safety of 18,216 individuals and recording zero casualties.
Typhoon Tino affected 121 barangays in Iloilo City. In response, the City Government mobilized key offices to conduct a Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA). Mayor Treñas thanked the Ilonggos for heeding evacuation advisories and praised the efforts of emergency responders and volunteers. Her mandatory preemptive evacuation order, issued through the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, played a crucial role in ensuring public safety.
The post-disaster assessment will help Iloilo City improve its response to future disasters. Despite the widespread impact of Typhoon Tino, the city's efforts resulted in zero casualties, demonstrating the effectiveness of its disaster management strategies. The City Government will now focus on addressing the needs identified in the assessment.
