IGT PlaySports and Boyd Gaming sign innovative sports betting technology agreement in Nevada
Heck Yes, Let's Get Down to Business!
Two heavyweights in the gaming world, International Game Technology (IGT) and Boyd Gaming Corporation, have put pen to paper on a fresh three-year sports betting technology deal, set to last through August 2028.
The gaming maven, IGT, will furnish Boyd Gaming with cutting-edge technology to power their retail and mobile sports betting operations in Nevada. This new partnership builds upon the successful agreements that have been in place since 2018.
So, what exactly does this mean for Boyd Gaming? Well, they'll be able to continue harnessing IGT's iconic PlaySports platform and PlaySports Kiosks technology to deliver top-shelf experiences at their 10 retail betting venues across Nevada.
Don't forget, IGT recently announced that no less than three $1m+ jackpots were hit in May alone, with players of the Powerbucks and Wheel of Fortune games raking it in. One lucky gambler even scored over $1.8m!
Excitement All Around!
Joe Bertolone, IGT's Senior Vice President of Sports Betting, was thrilled about the new partnership. He shared, "IGT PlaySports is pumped to keep partnering with Boyd Gaming in Nevada for an additional three years and help them attract players across channels in the most competitive sports betting market in the U.S."
Bob Scucci, Boyd Gaming's Vice President of Race & Sports Operations, expressed delight at the ongoing collaboration with IGT. He added, "With IGT's PlaySports platform as the core tech of our sports betting offering in Nevada, we can keep evolving Boyd Sports, adding more value for our players and versatility to adapt to new business opportunities."
The collaboration between IGT and Boyd Gaming doesn't stop in Nevada. They've also got each other's backs in the states of Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Kansas, Mississippi, and Ohio, leveraging IGT's PlaySports technology to power their retail sportsbooks.
The 2024 EGR North America Awards even crowned IGT's PlaySports platform as "Sportsbook Platform Provider of the Year," giving even more credence to its award-winning status.
Long story short, this new agreement solidifies IGT's position as the tech kingpin for Boyd Gaming's sports betting operations in Nevada and supports their footprint in multiple states, making for a strong partnership that's been growing for over seven years!
