"If you continue on this path, you prove yourself unintelligent"

Get ready to kick back and appreciate some fresh, energetic art! That's what Max Giermann is all about, switching not just his comedy game, but his painting one too. The hilarious comedian, who's known for his Klaus Kinski parodies and more, just opened a painting show in the heart of Dresden.

Party Time in the Baroque Quarter

Head down to Galerie Holger John in Dresden's Baroque district. From June 12th onwards, it's all Max Giermann, baby! Over 300 Dresden locals turned up for the grand opening, and the man himself was there, hangin' with the fans.

For the next couple of months until August 10th, be prepared to feast your eyes on around 30 artistic pieces by the Freiburg local. The gallery will be filled with Giermann's acrylic paintings on canvas, with a smattering of graphic prints here and there[2]. And let's not forget about his pièce de résistance - the largest work he's ever created, clocking in at 2.30 meters long[1]! Guess who commissioned that masterpiece? You got it - our gallery owner, Holger John.

Giermann's Artistic Roots

Even in the comfort of his own home growing up, Giermann was surrounded by art. His parents, both art teachers, ran a studio in their basement[1]. No wonder he still loves painting late into the night in his own studio[1]!

The Grimme Prize winner continues to paint, turning heads with his powerful, fresh style[2]. And if you visit the exhibition, you might spot a few nods to Andy Warhol, but with a Giermann twist[2]. After all, he's not called a comedy genius for nothing!
