Idlewild Park unveils new rides, events, and military perks for 149th season

Idlewild Park and SoakZone is gearing up for its 149th season, the first full year under new owner Herschend. The park has introduced fresh attractions, expanded dining options, and a packed schedule of summer events. Visitors can expect everything from character meet-and-greets to an extended Halloween celebration later in the year. The park opens with a special offer for military families, who can enter for free on the first day. Discounted tickets for their friends and relatives will also be available. Guests will have the chance to meet Daniel Tiger and his neighbourhood friends during the launch, while Spookley the Square Pumpkin will make appearances in June.

A new ride, Tilt-N-Twister, has been added to the Hootin' Holler area, joining the recently updated Tilt-A-Whirl. For those looking to relax, cabanas have been set up around the park. Food options have expanded too, with a new stand opening in SoakZone.

Later in the season, the park will host Fred Rogers’ Neighbor Days, a kids’ fest, and an America 250 celebration in late June and early July. The HALLOWBOO! event will also run longer than ever, stretching into autumn. Tickets and further details can be found on Idlewild & SoakZone’s official website. With more rides, events, and amenities than previous years, the park aims to offer its busiest and most varied season yet. Military families and returning visitors alike will find new ways to enjoy the summer.
