Villa Edeltraut, nestled in picturesque surroundings, has been a beloved destination for travellers since 1935. The guesthouse, which was built in 1906 by a Berlin company, has been in the hands of the Öttl family for three generations.

Georg Öttl's grandfather was the first to acquire the property and turned it into a pension, welcoming guests with open arms. Since 1966, a couple from Cologne have been returning to Villa Edeltraut, and they will celebrate their 55th anniversary there in 2026.

The history of Villa Edeltraut is deeply rooted in family and community. Money was tight, and all relatives pitched in to help run the inn. Today, Georg (66) and Silvia Öttl (62) continue this tradition, managing the guesthouse with the same spirit of unity and dedication.

In a recent interview, Silvia Öttl expressed her thoughts on the modern trend of online booking platforms. She resolutely stated that she doesn't see why someone in America should make money with them, preferring instead the personal touch of direct bookings. This commitment to personal service extends to every aspect of their operation, as Villa Edeltraut does not accept online bookings.

The large hall, built in 1949/50, can accommodate up to 250 people, making it an ideal venue for events. Despite its size, the hall retains the warm, inviting atmosphere that has become synonymous with Villa Edeltraut.

Whether you're planning a family vacation, a romantic getaway, or a business event, Villa Edeltraut offers a unique and memorable experience. With its rich history, dedication to family values, and commitment to personal service, this charming guesthouse continues to draw guests from around the world.
