In a thrilling development for car enthusiasts, Cinema Vehicle Services has announced the release of a special 25th anniversary edition of the iconic 1967 Shelby GT500 "Eleanor" from the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds." This limited run of 25 hand-built cars promises to deliver a blend of modern performance and classic charm, making it a dream come true for both collectors and driving enthusiasts.

The new edition, named "Eleanor: Gone Again," is a direct continuation of the original movie car, offering collectors a rare, officially sanctioned, and highly exclusive piece of automotive and pop culture history.

Under the hood, the base engine is Ford’s current-generation 5.0L Coyote V8, producing a powerful 480 horsepower. For those seeking more muscle, optional engine upgrades are available. The Roush 427 V8 bumps up the power to 550 hp for an additional $18,000, while a supercharged Aluminator V8 can be purchased for $19,500, delivering an impressive 875 hp.

Drivers can choose from a five-speed Tremec manual transmission, a six-speed manual, or a 10-speed automatic. Performance upgrades include Total Control Products suspension, Wilwood brakes (four-piston standard, six-piston optional), and a choice of 17-inch cast aluminum or 18-inch forged wheels.

Modern conveniences have not been overlooked. Each Eleanor comes equipped with push-button start, Bluetooth connectivity, climate control, and power windows. The interior features factory Deluxe styling with premium door panels and brushed aluminum accents, with a leather option available at extra cost.

Each car includes a numbered plaque under the hood and a certificate of authenticity signed by the original build team from 25 years ago. The price for this limited edition replica of Eleanor starts from around $500,000 before options.

Ray Claridge, the founder and owner of Cinema Vehicle Services until 2016, is leading the team to recreate Eleanor for the Mustang's 25th anniversary. The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled that Eleanor should not be classified as a movie character but as a prop, ensuring that the legendary Mustang cannot be copyrighted.

Reservations for the 25th Anniversary Eleanor are currently being taken. While the new Eleanor may not feature a working nitrous oxide system attached to the gear shifter-mounted button, as seen in the movie, it certainly promises to deliver an exhilarating driving experience that balances faithful period styling with contemporary engineering and usability.

Eleanor, the car from "Gone in 60 Seconds" (2000), starred A-List actors such as Nicholas Cage, Angelina Jolie, and Robert Duvall. The movie was a remake of the 1974 H.B. Halicki movie of the same name. Over the years, Eleanor has spawned numerous imitators and tribute cars, but this limited edition offers the chance to own an officially sanctioned piece of automotive history.

Ticking all the option boxes on the online configurator adds a further $51,000 to the car's cost, making it a significant investment for any car enthusiast. However, with its combination of power, style, and exclusivity, the 25th Anniversary Eleanor is sure to be a sought-after collectible for years to come.
