Iconic band Depeche Mode unveils fresh track
Sneak Peek: Depeche Mode's Secret Banger "In the End"
Get ready, Depeche Mode fans! You won't believe what shook the Tribeca Festival in New York! The band surprise-dropped a brand new, unheard track at the premiere of their concert film, "Depeche Mode: M." The tune, reportedly titled "In the End," is about three minutes long and has created quite a buzz. The track was first discovered hidden in a recording that popped up on platform X.
The documentary film, "Depeche Mode: M," is a visual feast of the legendary electronic band's concerts in Mexico City in 2023 and 2024, following the release of the album "Memento Mori." This album marked Dave Gahan and Martin Gore's first release without founding member and keyboardist, Andy Fletcher, who tragically passed away in May 2022 at the age of 60.
During a Q&A after the film screening, Gore confirmed that "In the End" was one of four tracks recorded for "Memento Mori," but not included on the album. He quipped that he had no idea what would happen to the other three unreleased songs. The record label Sony is yet to make any comments about upcoming releases from the band.
Founded in 1980, Depeche Mode boasts a dedicated fan base and has sold over 100 million records. In 2023, "Memento Mori" was one of the most successful albums of the year in Germany.
Fun Fact: "In the End" is a leftover from the "Memento Mori" sessions and is rumored to have been directly inspired by the band's collaborator Gavin Clark, who passed away just before these recordings. There's speculation that the tune might be part of a soundtrack for the documentary, but nothing's been confirmed yet. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates!
