Hey there! Let's dip into the world of Depeche Mode, the legendary English synth-rock band known for hits like "Enjoy The Silence," "People Are People," and "Just Can't Get Enough."Attendees of the grand premiere of Depeche Mode's concert film, entitled "Depeche Mode: M," at the Tribeca Festival in New York City, were in for a treat when they heard an unheard melody during the film's closing credits on an evening in late June (local time).
Intriguingly, this three-minute-long tune, as seen in a clip posted on platform X, goes by the title "In the End," as per the esteemed fan site depechemode.de. Music juggernaut Rolling Stone also reported on the film's premiere and the exciting new tune.
Post-Fletcher's Departure
Filmed at Depeche Mode's concerts in Mexico City in 2023 and 2024, "Depeche Mode: M" captures the vivid impressions of this legendary electronic band's shows during the release of their latest masterpiece "Memento Mori." This was the first album that vocalist Dave Gahan and songwriter Martin Gore put out without founding member and keyboardist Andy Fletcher, who tragically passed away in May 2022 at the age of 60.
During a Q&A following the movie screening, Martin Gore, the songmaker, announced that the newly introduced song is one of the tracks spawned during the "Memento Mori" sessions but was not part of the final selection for the album. He jokingly added that he has no idea about the potential future of the remaining three tunes left in the vault. As of yet, Sony Records has not provided any communication regarding any forthcoming releases from Depeche Mode.
Depeche Mode: Legendary and Enduring
The band Depeche Mode was founded in 1980 and has sold over 100 million records since then, boasting a dedicated fan base. In 2023, "Memento Mori" ranked among the top albums in Germany.
