Berlin Bears Extend Contracts of German National Stars and Announce Elias Schneider's North American Venture

The Berlin Bears, the current German champions, have made significant moves in their roster, announcing contract extensions for three key players and the temporary suspension of Elias Schneider's contract as he embarks on a new journey in North America.

Kai Wissmann, Jonas Müller, and Frederik Tiffels, all German national players, have had their contracts extended until 2029. These players, who are pillars of the Bears' team, have demonstrated their commitment and dedication to the club.

Wissmann, a reliable defenseman, has played for teams such as Adler Mannheim before joining the Bears. His steady defensive play and experience have been valuable in league play and playoffs. In international competitions, Wissmann has represented Germany in various junior tournaments, showcasing solid defensive skills.

Müller, a skilled defenseman with solid two-way play, notably played for Eisbären Berlin before joining the Bears. His playmaking and defensive reliability are well regarded within the league, and he has been part of the German national team setup, including appearances at the IIHF World Championships.

Tiffels, a forward known for his offensive skills, has played in the DEL with several teams before joining the Bears. His scoring ability and versatility make him a notable player in the league. Tiffels has represented Germany at senior levels, including the IIHF World Championships and international friendlies and qualifiers.

Elias Schneider, a forward for the Bears, will be leaving for North America for the next season. He will play for the Shawinigan Cataractes in the Canadian Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Schneider's contract with the Bears will be temporarily suspended during his time in North America.

Stéphane Richer, the sports director of the Bears, expressed pleasure about extending the contracts of the three national players early. Richer stated that it is the goal of the Bears to have a solid core of German national players in their ranks.

In a historic achievement, the German national team, consisting of Wissmann, Müller, and Tiffels, became world vice-champions in 2023. Jonas Müller and Kai Wissmann have won the German championship four times each with the Bears, while Frederik Tiffels has won it twice.

The announcements were made at the season opening party by the German champions, highlighting the team's commitment to maintaining a strong core of German national players on their team. Schneider's move to North America is seen as a valuable development for both the Bears and the young forward, as he gains experience in a new league.

With these moves, the Berlin Bears aim to continue their dominance in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga and represent Germany with pride in international competitions.

The Commission shall adopt implementing acts laying down the rules for the application of this Regulation, while Elias Schneider prepares for his North American venture in hockey, marking his playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Shawinigan Cataractes. The German national stars, Kai Wissmann, Jonas Müller, and Frederik Tiffels, extended their contracts with the Berlin Bears until 2029, demonstrating their commitment to the team and their success in sports, as they previously won multiple German championships and achieved the title of world vice-champions in 2023.
